PALAZZO MURAT -Positano, Amalfi Coast-

Revenue Management | Website Development

Palazzo Murat represents the perfect combination of privacy and comfort, embodying the elegance of a private residence that has been transformed into a luxury hotel in the heart of Positano. Thanks to the constant care and periodic renovations of the Attanasio family, who for generations have preserved the building's ancient splendour, every guest can enjoy a unique experience in an environment where tradition and modernity meet.

The origins of Palazzo Murat are deeply intertwined with the history of Positano, a little jewel on the Amalfi coast. For centuries, Positano remained almost isolated, separated from the rest of the world by its inaccessibility from land and the absence of a port. Conquered by the Angevins, then by the Normans, then by the Bourbons and the French, and finally integrated into a united Italy under the Savoys, the history of this place is full of transformations and adventures.

The current history of Palazzo Murat begins at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, when the figure of Alfonso Cinque, known as ‘the engineer’, appears. After a period of success in the United States, Alfonso, driven by the desire to return to his roots, acquired the ground floor of the building already known as Palazzo Murat – a name that recalls the historical link with Gioacchino Murat, brother-in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte. Over time, the building was enriched with a large garden, transformed into a ‘garden of wonders’, where a vineyard, vegetable garden, olive trees and other natural elements bear witness to the passion and hard work that have characterised its evolution.

In the years that followed, thanks to the entrepreneurial vision of Carlino and the dedication of the Attanasio family, the building underwent a radical transformation, changing from a simple guesthouse and apartments to a prestigious hotel. Today, under the guidance of the third generation, Palazzo Murat continues to prioritise the well-being of its guests, offering services that combine the warmth of family hospitality with the refinement of a modern hotel. Every detail, from the care taken over the interior and exterior spaces to the attention paid to local tradition, is designed to guarantee an unforgettable stay, where past and present interact harmoniously.

Palazzo Murat is much more than just a hotel: it is living history, a place where the historical heritage of Positano merges with innovation and comfort, creating an exclusive experience for each guest.
